From B1 to 88 — each mock showed my weak spots. The first consultation made the path realistic.

Full story

I needed at least TOEFL 88 for a Canadian study visa. Overall level was B1 but listening and writing were poor — first mock was 65 and I almost quit.

The first Vekna consultation was realistic: 16 weeks, ~450 study hours, writing first. Each mock showed exactly where I stalled; integrated writing rose from 15 to 22 while speaking stayed at 20.

Stress was the main blocker. Breathing drills before speaking and exam-room simulation in Mock Camp helped. From week twelve I did 30 minutes of independent speaking daily.

Final score: exactly 88 — Listening 22, Reading 23, Speaking 21, Writing 22. Study visa approved; I'm now in Montreal.

Challenges

Weak listening and writing, severe stress, low prior scores.
