I had a language degree but three years out of school my English had rusted. My first practice mock was 72; my MA program needed at least 90.
Vekna's free assessment showed B1 with weak Listening and Integrated Writing. My advisor said 14 focused weeks with two mocks per week could realistically reach 90+, not 95.
Early weeks were listening-heavy: daily podcasts, note-taking, and error review after every mock. From week six I committed to Speaking Lab — 20 minutes of recording plus instructor feedback each session. Mock #8 hit 86 for the first time and my confidence returned.
